Altech Netstar Triumphs as Supreme Court of Appeal Dismisses Competition Commission and Tracetec Appeal

The Supreme Court of Appeal of South Africa has dismissed, with costs, applications of both the Competition Commission of South Africa and Tracetec (Pty) Ltd against Altech Netstar. The ruling comes in the wake of a protracted legal battle between the Competition Commission and Altech Netstar following a complaint of anti-competitive behaviour by Tracetec against Altech Netstar in February 2005.

Car Thieves in George Beware

The George Herald has reported that thieves operational in the Kleinkrantz area of George were foiled on Wednesday 30 November 2011, when a stolen vehicle was recovered by Altech Netstar air and ground recovery crews.

FOUR ARRESTED FOR CORRUPTION NOT ALTECH NETSTAR EMPLOYEES

Altech Netstar wishes to correct a statement released by the Metro Police on 23rd June. The facts are that four employees from a company outsourced to carry out ground recovery services for Altech Netstar were arrested yesterday. An Altech Netstar subscriber’s vehicle was reported stolen on Wednesday 22nd June, and successfully tracked and recovered by air and ground recovery crews within a few hours and returned to the owner.

Altech Netstar Triumphs at Competition Appeal Court

The Competition Appeal Court of South Africa has upheld an appeal by Altech Netstar against the Competition Tribunal’s finding that it had committed a prohibited practice. The Competition Appeal Court set aside the Competition Tribunal’s finding and the finding was dismissed with costs.  The appeal was lodged in response to the Tribunal’s findings, published on 19 April 2010, that Altech Netstar, along with three other respondents, was guilty of anti-competitive behaviour.
